DRUSSA Postgraduate Programme in Research Uptake & Utilisation

Research Uptake Management (RUM) is an emerging university management field with a practical, cost-effective and sustainable approach to getting research into use. This calls for a new type of research management professional.
MPhil | PhD: Science & Technology Studies (Specialisation in Research Uptake & Utilisation)
As part of its remit for the DRUSSA (Development Research Uptake in Sub-Saharan Africa) programme, the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa now offers a postgraduate programme in Research Uptake and Utilisation. The programme offers postgraduate short courses as well as an MPhil | PhD programme in the field.
These courses will be offered each year, with the 2012 courses set to take place in Southern, West and East Africa in September, October and November, respectively. The courses are academically accredited by the University of Stellenbosch and candidates will have the option to be awarded a certificate of attendance or to submit to an assessment, which may potentially serve as credits towards the MPhil programme.

Candidates for the MPhil | PhD: Science and Technology Studies (Specialisation in Research Uptake and Utilisation) may be drawn from researchers, research managers, as well as communication and publicity managers, journalists and new media application experts.
Students outside South Africa need to apply by no later than 31 August for next year`s intake. South African students have until 30 September to apply.
